We went for a walk in the evening and passed this beautifully restored home. It is the oldest brick home in Pontiac.

Pontiac has a beautiful courthouse. It is surrounded by trees.

At the beginning of the Road Shop we put out a call for people to write about their community. The winner would receive a Kit Cat Klock. Here, Betty is receiving her Klock from CEO Woody Young.

We spent the morning at the Thresherman's Reunion. One of the demonstrations was an antique sawmill operation.

One of the most fasinating displays was this one owned by a gentleman named Rob. He is standing by one of his creations, a scale model of an early Case steam tractor. The scale is 2" to a foot.

Here is a better photo of just the tractor. Every detail is perfect. The craftsmanship is top rate and the best part is that this tractor runs! If you wanted to buy one of these, get your checkbook and sit down. Oh, expect to add some zeros because these sell for 30 to 40K.

The Threshermen's Reunion highlight a particular brand of machinery each year. This year the focus was on Allis Chalmers.

Next year the brand of choice will be the Minneapolis Molin.

We left the Threshermen's Reunion and headed to the Village of Dwight. We did stop in Odell to visit this beautifully restored gas station.

Most of the historic attractions along Route 66 will be marked with signage like this one for the Odell gas station.

In the Village of Dwight, we stopped at the restored Texaco station, which is also right on the route.

The station is manned by volunteers which commit to two hour shifts at the station. When we arrived, we were greeted by Warren the daily volunteer. We later discovered that Warren had been the Mayor for 8 years and had been a public servant for over 30. Here he is standing with Woody by the car in front of the station.

Soon the station will be installing these two pumps, the last pumps to be used on Route 66.

Across the street, we saw this really unique way of using large steel ocean going shipping containers.

At the end of the day we went to have dinner and discovered that this windmill was right next door. Actually we were looking for the windmill and discovered the restaurant.

In the evening we headed to Joliet. On the way, we had to stop and take a picture of the Gemini Giant.
